Timor-Leste

Discover Geoscience, together with project partners Searcher, ANPM (Autoridade Nacional do Petróleo e Minerais), and Ascendience Geoscience, have undertaken a regional prospectivity study and compiled a seismic and well data package for offshore Timor-Leste. The prospectivity study is a comprehensive regional play-based evaluation of the offshore Timor-Leste utilising a multidisciplinary approach to evaluate new and proven plays in the area. The study assesses Permian to Cretaceous plays and includes an extensive review of the under-explored Triassic plays.

Deliverables include:

  • A regional prospectivity report
  • Time and depth maps for key regional surfaces
  • Palaeogeographic maps
  • Source maturity maps (calibrated with 1D models)
  • Common risk segment maps
  • Well summaries
  • Play identification
  • GIS database
  • Seismic interpretation project
  • Optional conditioned well data packages.

Argentina & Surrounds Multi-Client Basin Analysis Report

Discover Geoscience, together with project partner Searcher, have undertaken a regional play-based evaluation of the Malvinas and surrounding basins, based on interpretation of open-file data. Utilising a multi-disciplinary approach with emphasis on geology, geophysics (seismic, magnetics and gravity), and geochemistry, a considerable part of this study is devoted to assessing two principal risks identified in this area: hydrocarbon charge and reservoir presence.

The five principal products include:

  • Plate tectonic reconstructions
  • Synchronised sequence stratigraphic framework
  • Palaeogeographic atlas from the Permian to the present
  • Geochemical atlas with regional temperature/maturity maps
  • Play map atlas integrating plate tectonics, palaeogeography and geochemical information, outlining the most prospective regions.

Offshore Peru Conditioned Well Data Package and Well Atlas

Discover Geoscience, with project partners Searcher and PeruPetro, have undertaken an offshore Peru well atlas and have compiled a conditioned well data package. The well atlas and well data package complements Searcher’s fully rectified 2D and 3D seismic data package, available offshore Peru.

41 exploration/appraisal wells were conditioned as part of the well data package and 27 wells for selected from across five offshore Peruvian basins to form a well post-drilling analysis. Petroleum systems elements were analysed for each of the 27 wells allowing for an evaluation of reservoir, seal, and charge presence/absence and effectiveness. Key horizons were mapped at well locations using Searcher’s rectified seismic database, allowing structural interpretation of each well and its integrity post drill.

Deliverables include: conditioned well data package including a translated basic data page for each well, enhanced well reports including translation of key data into English, summary of objectives and results, conditioned digital well logs, including digitised well logs, supporting digital well information (e.g. deviations, checkshots, formation tops). Well atlas deliverables include an analysis of petroleum systems elements, quick look structural mapping for wells, and reasons for success/failure in a report format.

Onshore Peru Well Atlas

Discover Geoscience, with project partners Searcher and PeruPetro, have undertaken an onshore Peru well atlas and have compiled a conditioned well data package. The well atlas and well data package complements Searcher’s fully rectified 2D and 3D seismic data package, available onshore Peru.

The well data package and well atlas comprises 60 key exploration/appraisal wells from the sub-Andean Marañon, Ucayali and Madre de Dios basins. Petroleum systems elements were analysed for each well allowing for an evaluation of: reservoir, seal, and charge presence/absence and effectiveness. Key horizons were mapped at well locations using Searcher’s rectified seismic database allowing structural interpretation of each well and its integrity post drill.

Papua New Guinea: Gulf of Papua Prospectivity Study

Discover Geoscience, with project partner Searcher, has undertaken a regional prospectivity study of the Gulf of Papua. The prospectivity study consists of a detailed geological and geophysical review of the offshore Gulf of Papua, allowing a deep understanding of the hydrocarbon prospectivity of the region.

The study consists of five sections: sequence stratigraphic framework, tectonostratigraphic elements, facies and environment of deposition mapping, charge modelling, play concepts and leads inventory.

Deliverables include: formation tops for 16 reviewed wells, chronostratigraphy, TWT and depth maps of five key horizons, isochron maps, environment of deposition maps at five key ages, lead concepts, geoseismic sections, regional structural elements map, infill basement mapping, 3D mapping, 1D basin modelling, Davaria Geochemical Survey interpretation and a leads and prospects portfolio.

Papua New Guinea: Northern Basins Prospectivity Study

Discover Geoscience, with project partner Searcher, has undertaken a regional prospectivity study of the Northern Basins of Papua New Guinea. The study offers a detailed understanding of the basins and hydrocarbon potential of the region, with extensive coverage of the Cape Vogel, Bougainville and New Ireland basins.

The prospectivity study contains an assessment of the sequence stratigraphic framework of the region, with chronostratigraphy unified with the Gulf of Papua prospectivity study, it incorporates tectonostratigraphic elements, palaeogeography, gravity and magnetics interpretation, petroleum systems analysis, regional hydrocarbon modelling and a summary of play concepts.

Deliverables include: tectonostratigraphic framework, post mortem analysis of three wells, chronostratigraphy, TWT and depth maps for 5 key horizons, isochron maps, geoseismic sections, 2D gravity modelling and AVO/DHI analysis.
